Gurdjieff in Egypt
What Gurdjieff Found

Amazingly, Gurdjieff found, as he said, that "prehistoric Egypt was Christian many thousands of years before the birth of Christ, that is to say, that its religion was composed of the same principles and ideas that constitute true Christianity."

Gurdjieff followed the migration of prehistoric Christianity from Egypt, Fourth Way

Elements of the prehistoric teaching had migrated northward with time, and so he journeyed to Central Asia, the Hindu Kush, and contacted many long-hidden brotherhoods. Gurdjieff—having discovered the 'blueprint' of prehistoric Christianity—traveled to these areas, reassembled, and reformulated the teaching for modern times. Then in 1912, he brought it to the West where it now exists as The Fourth Way. For a further description, see The Fourth Way
